Gainesville is one of the best cycling communities in the country. The League of American Bicyclists rates Gainesville a silver on their list of Bicycle Friendly Communities, the best in the state. There are organized group road rides everyday, paved and off-road trails nearby, tours, and plenty of racing, including the Downtown Criterium.
